Delete your Laps account

Last updated 27 August 2026

This page is about Laps — the swimming app listed on Google Play as Laps: Swim Tracker & Ranking, operated by Oxana Galitskaya in the Netherlands. It explains how to delete your account, what is removed when you do, and the few things that are kept afterwards and why.

1. Delete it in the app

This is the quickest route and it takes effect immediately. There is no form to fill in and nobody to wait for.

  1. Open Laps and sign in.
  2. Go to the Profile tab.
  3. Open Settings.
  4. Tap Account.
  5. Tap Delete account.
  6. Confirm when you are asked.

It cannot be undone. Deleting your account is not hiding it behind a flag or deactivating it. The data is removed, and neither we nor you can bring it back. If you only want a break, you can make your profile private in Settings instead.

2. Delete it by email

If you cannot sign in — a lost password, an address you no longer have, or a phone you no longer own — write to help@laps-app.com from the email address on the account, or tell us the username on the account, and ask for it to be deleted.

We will ask you to confirm, and we may ask a question only the account holder could answer. That is to stop somebody else deleting your account. Once confirmed, we delete it within 30 days and usually within a few days.

3. Delete some of your data instead

You do not have to delete your whole Laps account to get rid of something. These work on their own, and your account carries on as normal.

Data you delete this way is gone from Laps straight away. As with account deletion, backups may still hold a copy for up to 30 days before it rolls off, and the records described in section 5 are kept for the reasons given there.

4. What is deleted

Deleting your account removes all of the following:

5. What is kept, and for how long

Three things outlive the account. Each is listed in the Privacy Policy, and this page says the same thing.

6. If you subscribe to Laps Pro

Deleting your Laps account does not cancel your subscription. Laps Pro is sold and billed by Google Play, and no app is allowed to cancel a Google Play subscription on your behalf. If you do not cancel it, Google will keep charging you.

Cancel it first, in the Play Store app: tap your profile picture → Payments & subscriptionsSubscriptionsLapsCancel subscription. You can also reach the same screen from Laps itself, under Settings → Account → Manage subscription.

A cancelled subscription runs to the end of the period you have already paid for. Deleting your account before then does not produce a refund; refunds are handled by Google Play.
